Forbes’ annual list of TV’s biggest revenue generators is out with the top spot going to American Idol, which pulls in $7.11 million for each half-hour of airtime, miles ahead of second-place Two and a Half Men which pulls in $2.89 million. Rounding out the top 5 are Desperate Housewives, Grey’s Anatomy and Dancing with the Stars….NBC renews a trio of comedies locking down The Office, Parks and Recreation and Community for new seasons. The announcement follows close on the heels of NBC announcing plans to shop Parks and Recreation in syndication as early as next month. The future of the other two Thursday night comedies, Outsourced and Perfect Couples is still unknown…. Criticism is being leveled at the new distribution of the Men’s NCAA Basketball Tournament which spreads the games across CBS, Tru TV, TNT and CBS for leaving the local affiliates out in the cold. Previously, affiliates were able to air games that had local appeal but now, not all games are available to the broadcasters leaving consumers without a cable hook-up out in the cold….The CW is moving America’s Next Top Model back an hour to 9 p.m. starting April 20. The move means the show will not have to compete with the juggernaut that is American Idol…. ABC has ordered six episodes of 101 Ways to Leave a Game Show for the summer. The show comes from the same executive producer as Wipeout…. Kelsey Grammer returns to television in a behind-the-scenes role directing the pilot episode of CBS’ new comedy Vince Uncensored. Grammer will also be on camera in a new Starz drama called The Boss… Comedian Damon Wayans will star in a new CBS comedy pilot set at a sports-talk radio station….TV Line is reporting Rebecca Sinclair, the showrunner credited with invigorating the new 90210, is leaving the show. Before 90210, Sinclair was executive producer for three seasons of Gilmore Girls….Laura Spencer leaves her anchor position at The Insider to return to Good Morning America as the lifestyle anchor. Spencer has been seen on GMA before as a national correspondent…. ABC’s reboot of the 1970’s series Charlie’s Angels has begun filming with stars Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights), Rachel Taylor (Transformers) and Annie Llonzeh (General
Hospital). Robert Wager will be the voice of Charlie.
